Narcotics and Organized Crime

The Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit has three main functions to reduce crime and improve neighborhood livability in our community:

1) Disrupt and dismantle mid- to high-level drug trafficking organizations operating in this region through the arrest of suspects, seizure of illegal drugs and the seizure of illegal drug proceeds.

2) Investigate all cases of drug overdose death where actionable leads may result in the arrest of suspects who contributed to the death through the supply of illegal drugs. Drug overdose deaths, particularly from heroin and synthetic opioids, are steadily rising across the United States as more drug users transition from prescription opiate pills to cheaper and more plentiful heroin or synthetic opioids.

3) Provide investigative support to the patrol precincts to help solve neighborhood livability issues.
